ESI Registration 2026 – Overview

ESI Registration is mandatory for companies and establishments that employ 10 or more employees (20 in some states) with wages up to ₹21,000 per month. It provides medical, sickness, maternity and disability benefits to employees under the Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948.

The registration process is completely online through the ESIC Portal. Once issued, the employer is allotted an ESI Employer Code.
